Description
In this final episode of the educational initiative TRANSFORMING TARGETED THERAPY IN ATOPIC DERMATITIS: APPLYING EMERGING DATA AND EVOLVING BEST PRACTICES TO IMPROVE OUTCOMES, dermatologists and allergists discuss practical approaches to improve care for patients with moderate-to-severe disease. Topics include best practices for vaccination, considerations for patients in special populations, and advocating for access to novel therapies.
Method of Participation
There are no fees for participating in or receiving credit for this CE activity. In order to receive credit, learners must participate in the entire CE activity, complete the post-test and activity evaluation form and your certificate of credit will be generated.

In 2022, Dr. Bhatia is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society, and just completed his term as the Vice President of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Peter Lio, MD is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology & Pediatrics at Northwestern University. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and his Dermatology training at Harvard. While at Harvard, he received formal training in acupuncture. Dr. Lio is the founding director of the Chicago Integrative Eczema Center and a founding faculty member of the Integrative Dermatology Certificate Program with over 200 publications and 3 textbooks.

Dr. Chiesa Fuxench is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. She is a board-certified dermatologist whose clinical work focuses chronic inflammatory disease with a particular focus on atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Her research work is focused on the epidemiology, risk factors and genetics of inflammatory skin diseases, primarily atopic dermatitis, and is actively involved in the conduction of clinical trials on novel therapies for atopic dermatitis.
Dr. Chiesa Fuxench was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico (BS, Biology, Magna Cum Laude), and her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine (Magna Cum Laude). Dr. Chiesa Fuxench completed an internship in internal medicine at the University District Hospital (San Juan, Puerto Rico), and her dermatology residency at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. She then relocated to the University of Pennsylvania where she completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology.
Dr. Chiesa Fuxench’s career has been supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health, National Psoriasis Foundation, Women’s Dermatological Society and the Dermatology Foundation. She is a member of multiple societies and organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, Society for Investigative Dermatology, and the Women’s Dermatological Society among others.
